The 87th Academy Awards, more popularly known as The Oscars, were an absolute riot of film, fashion and finesse. This year had many spectacular highlights: Lady Gaga's mind-boggling performance, Eddie Redmayne picking up a golden man for Best Actor and Neil Patrick Harris' luscious suede tuxedo. Of course, we settled down an hour or so before the main show to feast our eyes on the red carpet entrances. Ladies, we present you with the best dressed ladies of The Oscars 2015.
The beautiful actress from Down Under was the epitome of simplesophistication. She looking absolutely ravishing in a plunging Saint Laurent gown with sheer sleeves, adding a very subtle tinge of rock 'n' roll to the red carpet. Her eye-catching Van Cleef & Arpels neckpiece, rumored to be worth $1.5 million, was the cherry on top. We heart it.
While she may not have been a nominee, Jennifer certainly won our vote for the best dressed lady of the night. In a stunning princess gown crafted by the talented Elie Saab, she took the red carpet by a storm. We love her simple makeup, sleek ponytail and elegant diamond studs, which are a clear testament to how her red carpet style has evolved over the years (for the better). Good going, J. Lo!
In an emerald green Versace gown that made us green with envy (and admiration!), Scarlett looked every bit the superstar. She gets extra points for the bold statement necklace and the mismatched earrings which add an edgy undertone to her glamorous look. John Travolta must have loved her look so much becausehe gave her a quick peck on the cheek. We are not sure how Scarlett felt about that; she looked pretty awkward, if you ask us.
Gwyneth took our breath away when she sailed down the red carpet in a delectable Ralph & Russo gown that exuded elegance. The simplicity of her gown was offset by the exquisite Anna Hu jewelry that adorned her hands and ears. We are head over heels in love with the exotic fiery earrings. If only...
Can you believe that our favourite actress from Friends is almost 50? We certainly cannot when she looks as stunning as she did on the red carpet. In a strapless beaded gown by Versace, Jennifer made heads turn. Her luscious locks were flawless as usual and her makeup was to-die-for. Did you know that her makeup artist, Angela Levin, mixed 3 shades of Chanel lip colour to get that sultry beige hue? We love it, Jen!
