Need Advice With Swimwear Sizes? This might help!

help-with-swimwear-sizesLet۪s face it: without the touch and feel aspect, shopping online can be a daunting task. Will this bikini be too big? Too small? Too tight? Too loose? Don۪t worry, girls, we have you covered! At Swimwear World, we make it our mission to understand our products inside out and can give you the low-down on everything from style to size and design to fit. Whilst international sizes are standard, some designer swimwear houses often run smaller or larger than size. To save you the headache and heartache of choosing the wrong size, we۪ve thrown together a sweet and simple size guide for all our brands to help you pick the right size when shopping for your designer swimwear.

How To Measure Yourself

Your designer swimwear is supposed to fit like it has been custom made for your body type, so choosing the right size is of utmost importance. Trust us when we say that measuring yourself really isn۪t as difficult as it sounds. First things first ensure that you are using a soft measuring tape for this process. If you don۪t have one available on hand, use a roll of wool or twine instead, and then measure it up against a ruler later. Stand in front of a mirror so that you can see what you are doing. Your measurements will be the most accurate if you can do them in your birthday suit or lingerie.

To measure your waist, bend your body to one side. The crease which forms indicates your natural waist, where you are to measure yourself from. Now, stand with your body straight and hold the measuring tape firmly against your body, taking care to not squeeze the tape too tightly.

To measure your hips, you need to find the widest part of your hip area. Usually, you will be able to see or feel a bone there. Stand with your back straight and your legs together, holding the tape snug against your body as you measure.

Finally, you must measure around your bust. This is especially important if you are looking to buy a bikini. Even if you aren۪t, do it anyway. You۪d rather be safe than sorry, right? The key to getting this right is to note the measurement at the fullest part of your bust. Anchor the tape under your arm and wrap it around. It might be a good idea to do it a second time after taking a breath in and out, to ensure the utmost accuracy.
