Five Fabulous Smoothies for the Summer

At Swimwear World, we simply cannot resist a snack which is healthy and tasty. I mean, could there be a better combination for the summer?! That's why we have been raiding our respective fridges for fun ingredients to throw into the blender and mix into delectable smoothies. Smoothies are great because you can have them at anytime of day. They make for a super filling pre and post workout drink but can also be had when the evening munchies kick in or with a light dinner. Here are our top five smoothie blends for the summer:

Orange and Almond

If you are craving a zesty kick, this scrumptious blend of orange and almond is just the thing for you. Throw one cup of almond milk, three or four peeled almonds, half a cup of orange juice, the juice from one lemon, the juice from one lime, a handful of ice and a teaspoon of honey into your blender, mix it all up and serve the smoothie immediately. Almonds are packed with nutrients, vitamins, protein and fiber so you can imagine how good they are for you. The cherry on top? It's only 148 calories and it tastes so good.

Load Up On Vitamin C

Did you know that they key to protecting your immune system is stocking up on your daily dose of vitamin C? This beverage combines the goodness of the vitamin with the deliciousness of fruits to create the ultimate summer smoothie. Blend up one large grapefruit (peeled, seeded and cut into bite-sized pieces), half a cup of crushed pineapple (fresh is always better than canned), half a cup of fresh strawberries and half a cup of non-fat Greek yogurt.
