This year, the Mercedez Benz Fashion Week was an absolute riot. We are not exaggerating when we say that there were gorgeous people, sexy swimwear ensembles and delicious food, everywhere. Of course, between feasting our eyes on the 2015 designer swimwear collections, lazing on South Beach and living it up at the after parties, we managed to get the low-down on the hottest trends for all of your beautiful readers!

High Necks

This trend is ideal for busty babes who need some extra support on their upper half. Even if you don’t, the high neck lends a classy feel to any beach ensemble. High necks proved to be a hot favourite at the Luli Fama 2015 swimwear show, with stunning models clad in equally stunning bikinis. We loved the combination of the new style with an old favourite, crochet swimwear, too – so perfect for the summer!

Gold Accessories

Gold has always been one of our favourite metal because you can rock it with pretty much anything. It also exudes luxury like nothing else. This year, gold accessories were aplenty at all our favourite shows, whether it was a simple bangle from the Beach Bunny 2015 swimwear collection, or layered necklaces from Maaji 2015 swimwear collections. We even managed to spy gold hues on a few swimsuits as well! Whatever the occasion, rest assured that gold accessories is your answer.

Neoprene Fabrics

There is nothing like sleek neoprene lovin’ to add some edge to designer swimwear – it is just the thing you need for the perfect good-girl-gone-bad look. We absolutely loved the Beach Bunny 2015 swimwear collection with the metallic take on the neoprene fabric with hues like silver, which added just the right amount of sass to their collection. Fierce!

Mesh Details

Mesh fabric is seriously sexy, providing tantalizing glances of your glowing summer tan while leaving the rest to the imagination. The best part, however, is that every piece boasts of a different weave, adding a unique flair to your designer swimwear ensemble. We are totally digging the black mesh cover up by Sauvage swimwear 2015! Get ready to turn some heads, ladies.

Caged Swimwear

Strappy details are all about ramping up the sex appeal, and we loved the new take on this classic element for 2015 – flirty and feminine. The caged swimwear trend has been growing in popularity recently, and made a massive splash on the runway this year, with straps on bikini tops, classic bottoms, across the midriff and more. We had our eyes on a beautiful pink caged bikini top by Cia Maritima 2015 Swimwear – très chique!

Rash Guards

Who said you have to know how to surf to rock rash guards at the beach? The cropped version of this sporty chic surfer staple was seen in exotic prints and unique pastel colours on the runway. It makes for the perfect cover up, too. We are head-over-heels in love with a minty green number by Luli Fama 2015 Swimwear!

Photo Prints

Fashion is a medium to express your individuality. What better way to do so than with beautiful, visual imagery? This year saw a host of designers playing with photography on swimwear and the results blew our minds. We loved the perfectly on-tune beach scene photograph designs used in the Agua de Coco 2015 designer swimwear collection and the palm tree prints from the latest Cia Maritima 2015 swimwear collection– what an apt way to celebrate the glorious beach life!

Along with these bold new trends, we saw the return of our favourite old ones as well. High waist bottoms are back! These retro babies are perfect for playing a sultry vixen on the sands and are really useful if you want to create the perfect hour glass figure. Don’t bid adieu to crop tops just yet – they are here to stay and we couldn’t be more delighted! And of course, black will always, always be in style.
Which trend are you feeling for the new season?
